In the past few weeks, the SmartSolutions team has successfully implemented a concept for tracking the articles to be handled. For this purpose, a handheld scanner Powerscan from Datalogic was integrated, which is connected to the SmartSolutions cells via USB interface. The scanner can capture the serial number of a single item as well as that of several components that are to be permanently joined by screwing, pressing, riveting or similar processes.
By storing various process data such as torque, angle of rotation or, for example, force-displacement monitoring in the PRESS, and registering the serial numbers via scanner, the process data can then be precisely assigned to the respective article. The data gained can also be made available for download on the network via an Ethernet interface. Accordingly, the optional hand scanner not only enables the articles to be tracked, but also gives the operator the option of assigning process data precisely to a particular article.
